"Truth'n" is a surprise Julian Hartwell Trio offering for Winter 2017. Part of a loose recording session from a 2016 incarnation of the trio, this track turned out well enough to experiment with a mix in my home studio and offer to the public...something to tide listeners over till the next release! ;)
"Truth'n" signifies our journey on the "Search for Truth." Anything that leads us to the Reality of who we truly are in our essence...the reality of the Universe in which we live...the reality of Universal spiritual laws and forces...is part and parcel of that Journey ~ our "Truth'n."
I resonated with a quote recently: "Truth doesn't care much for your opinion." This is a good reminder for a world in 2017 still very much in denial of the universality of truth: The divisions, false walls, constructs, belief systems, and separateness created by Ego which still pits "Us" against "Them"..."My God" vs "Your God" ..."My tribe vs Your tribe" ... and the myriad other ways we separate ourselves off from each other and create needless strife and division, with many left wounded in the wake.
We need to remember that if we come from anywhere, we come from One Source...if we belong anywhere, it's on One Planet. Recent DNA testing is beginning to prove that even our fragile identities based on place and country, national origin and race - are ultimately much larger than what we've been taught to construct.
The One Truth is ultimately One, or None at All...reflected back to us in countless ways, taking as many forms as there are human forms, as many faces as our faces.
As long as our consciousness and perspective expands, we will see more and more how the Truth is really more simple than complicated, more uniting than dividing, and that the REAL Truth really WILL set us free!
...And "us" must include ALL OF US...or none at all!!!
So there's room for optimism here, no?
In the meantime, let's support our growth and journeying towards the Truth together, shall we?
In conclusion, I share a favorite poem by Rumi ~ "One Song" :
"Every war and every conflict
between human beings has happened
because of some disagreement about names.
It is such an unnecessary foolishness,
because just beyond the arguing
there is a long table of companionship
set and waiting for us to sit down.
What is praised is one, so the praise is one too,
many jugs being poured into a huge basin.
All religions, all this singing, one song.
The differences are just illusion and vanity.
Sunlight looks a little different
on this wall than it does on that wall
and a lot different on this other one,
but it is still one light.
We have borrowed these clothes,
these time-and-space personalities,
from a light, and when we praise,
we are pouring them back in."
