{TrackStory}
The first track off the debut album...because it’s the first jazz composition I ever REALLY wrote circa 7th grade in ole ‘Bama where my musical evolution began...suthern flavored, laid-back funk at a lazy street pace…I don’t think I had a real ‘concept’ behind this song at the time, but now upon further reflection you could say it represents the daily grind…the working-mans-funk…the varying degrees of 'The Struggle' to make it in this world that we ALL experience, but some of us alot more than others, to be fair…the ‘musician struggle’ notwithstanding…
The repetitive nature of the groove speaks to being persistent through it all, wherever your path is leading you...
The hopeful last section that wraps up the form with bright major chords is just that: That HOPE, that DREAM, that still lies at the end of it all. One I hope is unique to you, one I hope you're still holding on to, no matter what is currently going on in your life...
The HOPE that all of the hard work, the challenges, the failures, are still leading us onward and upward to the Realization(s) of our Dream(s), our greatest desire(s) that we all guard in the vaults of our Hearts.
After all, I’ve heard it said: "The day we stop dreaming is the day we stop living."
So let’s keep dreaming, ya’ll.
